OUR COMPANY VALUES AND PRINCIPLES
Our Products and Service to Community – Quality, Local and Tenacious
We are serious about the quality of our beer, the craft of brewing it, and the ingredients that comprise it. We grow locally what we can and support neighboring communities and other B Corps to supply the rest.
We continually innovate for quality, efficiency, product and service improvements. We are a learning company, which means we have comfort with both ambiguity and stability in our operations.
We aim to surpass our communities’ expectations by serving the highest quality products, providing an extraordinary experience and including them as if they are owners of our company – many of them are!
We achieve profits that, in turn, further the goals of the company, employees and shareholders.
Healthy Communities, People and Culture – Diverse, Creative and Inspired
We seek to balance the myriad of needs, especially health and well-being, of the company, staff and their families. Jobsite safety, adequate income, sufficient time off and access to nutrition are critical elements of our culture.
We promote healthy beer culture and the responsible enjoyment of beer.
We acknowledge the inherent value in diversity and the inclusion of voices different from our own, even when it is uncomfortable. So, we do the work to build trust with each other and, in doing so, commit to caring relationships and kind yet honest communications.
Have fun or don’t come to work … is not a joke. We believe that the well-being of people depends on their job satisfaction and that THEY must share in the responsibility for that outcome.
Leading by Example – Courageous, Humble and Just
Our land ethics include farming in an ecologically responsible, if not regenerative, way that adds value to our local food system and economy, for generations to come.
We aspire to provide a model of how business can be used as a force for good. We are committed to the B Corp certification to both track our improvements and articulate our impact.
We partner with other social ventures to advance our collective goal of responsible business, healthy community and a sustainable world.

**Job Posting: The Big Cheese of The Alley**
**Location:** Powell River, BC
**Employment Type:** Full-time
**Salary Range:** $65,000 - $75,000
**Who We Are:**
Persephone Brewing Company isn’t just a brewery; we’re an institution for anyone who thinks beer should come with a side of sustainability and a dash of idealism. Nestled on a dreamy farm, we’re the lovechild of craft beer and saving the planet. Forget boring corporate vibes—we’re all about good brews, great times, and making the world a better place one pint at a time.
**About The Alley:**
The Alley is what happens when a bowling alley, a pub (called The Spare Room), and a smorgasbord of commercial, residential, and retail spaces decide to throw a party and never stop. Owned by us, your friendly neighbourhood brewery and partners, this is the place where community, quirky tenants, and groundbreaking events collide in glorious harmony. Think of it as the mullet of real estate: business up front, party in the back.
**The Role:**
We’re on the hunt for someone who can keep the metaphorical (and occasionally literal) pins upright. As The Manager of The Alley, you’ll juggle tenants, community events, and a bit of everything in between. Your mission: curate a space that’s not only sustainable but irresistibly cool. Yes, you get to be the puppet master behind the scenes of a space where people live, work, and play.
**What You’ll Actually Do:**
- Keep The Alley humming by overseeing daily operations for the bowling
alley, The Spare Room, and tenant spaces without breaking a sweat (or breaking the actual alley).
- Curate tenants like a DJ picking the perfect tracks—only businesses that hit the right social, economic, and environmental notes are invited.
- Dream up and run events that will have the community talking (in a good
way, of course).
- Be the tenant whisperer, solving disputes and ensuring everyone plays nice in our funky sandbox.
- Keep the building looking spiffy and functioning like a well-oiled machine.
- Balance budgets like you’re training for the accounting Olympics.
- Sync up with the Persephone team to make sure The Alley vibes with our big-picture goals.
**What You Bring to the Table:**
- A solid track record in management, event planning, or general herding of cats.
- A knack for understanding sustainability—you talk the talk and walk the walk.
- Top-tier communication skills - both digitally and IRL.
- Comfort with technology especially productivity, communications and other business applications.
- Mad skills with budgets and a talent for stretching a dollar without cutting corners.
- Creative problem-solving chops and an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Willingness to work odd hours because cool events don’t happen from 9 to 5.
**Why You Want This Job:**
Because where else can you say your job involves bowling alleys, craft beer, and saving the planet? At Persephone Brewing Company, we’re all about creating spaces where people connect, collaborate, and leave feeling inspired. And as The Alley’s head honcho, you’ll get to make that magic happen every single day.
**How to Apply:**
Throw your hat in the ring by sending your resume and a cover letter that’s as interesting as you are to [brian@thebeerfarm.ca]
Applications are open until we find the right mix of brilliance and pizzazz.
Step up. Be the spark. Make The Alley the place to be.
